From dino-themed activities and hands-on science labs to special screenings of “T. REX” featuring a post-film Q&A with Dr. Tyler Lyson, the paleontologist featured in the film, there’s something for every dino enthusiast. Explore, discover, and dig into prehistoric fun for the entire family!

Tickets: Make sure to add the 3D “T. REX” film to your visit for the full dino weekend experience! Activities throughout the Museum are included with general admission.

Enjoy a post-film Q&A with Dr. Tyler Lyson, the paleontologist featured in the film, moderated by Dr. Ron Tykoski, vice president of science and curator of vertebrate paleontology, Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Don’t miss your chance to interact and learn from real paleontologists!

Dr. Tyler Lyson
Associate Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology, Denver Museum of Nature and Science

Dr. Tyler Lyson is a vertebrate paleontologist who studies the extinction of the dinosaurs, the rise of placental mammals, and the evolutionary origin of various reptiles, particularly turtles. He combines developmental, genetic, and fossil data with high-resolution chronostratigraphic data to address his research questions. Tyler has conducted fieldwork throughout the American West and has active field sites in North Dakota, Montana, and Colorado, as well as in South Africa, Bolivia, and Peru.

Imagine you found bones that look like a human skull and a human jaw in a field. Time to grab your goggles and gloves to dive into this “Mysterious Bones” activity!

Science on the Spot
Additional hands-on activities will be located in the halls on the Lower Level and Level 4 of the Museum.

The Museum Café will also include a special Dino Days menu featuring a Dino Nugget Meal and a “Pterodactyl” Wings Special! And for those adding the special T. REX screening and Q&A to your visit, there will be a dino-themed snack cart featuring dino cupcakes and a “prehistoric punch” (flavored lemonade) to enjoy during the film.
