Thursdays on Tap — Teacher Appreciation Night
August 8, 2024
To help kick off the school year, we are pleased to offer complimentary admission to Thursdays on Tap on August 8! Come enjoy live music, food trucks, drinks, and full Museum access. Our team of educators will be available with previews of our programming and to answer questions about field trips and school campus visits.
Preregistration is required. Complimentary tickets will not be available at the Museum on the day of the event.
Financial Aid
Through generous support from our philanthropic community, the Museum provides financial aid to Title 1 schools for field trips and outreach programming.
Title 1 schools, as defined by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), serve a student body determined to be economically disadvantaged, or offer a “targeted assistance program” for at-risk students.
New this year:
Title 1 schools may apply for funding to visit the Museum between August 19, 2024, and February 28, 2025. If approved, a financial aid award will cover general exhibit entrance for students and required chaperones, as well as programming fees (films and travelling exhibits are not included). Additional adults included on the reservation will pay the group rate, and any walk-up students or adults will pay the general admission rate if tickets are available.
Title 1 schools may apply for funding to cover outreach programs taking place between the dates of August 19, 2024, and May 23, 2025. If approved, a financial aid award will cover outreach program fees (additional travel fees are not included).
Teacher Admission
We are pleased to offer free general admission, and 15% off memberships, for K-12 educators in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Mexico. Make sure to bring your school ID to the box office the day of your visit.
Discount is not applicable the day of your field trip.
