Our Programs

The Perot Museum is more than a collection of exhibits and specimens - we also have a variety of exciting, hands-on programs specifically created to inspire minds through nature and science.

  • Special Exhibition

    The Science Behind Pixar

    Grades PK 3-4 - 12

    Get hands on with the STEM concepts used by Pixar’s artists and computer scientists as you come face-to-face with re-creations of your favorite film characters, including Buzz Lightyear, Dory, Mike and Sulley, Edna Mode and WALL•E!

    Grades PK 3-4

    Animals are amazing! In some ways, they’re just like us: they move and they eat. They also rely on their senses: smell, taste, hearing, sight and touch. Let’s learn about some amazing creatures while using OUR bodies and senses.

    What is something special about our planet? We only have one Earth, and it’s important that we take care of it. Let’s learn about different ways that we can protect the Earth; take care of its air, water, and land; and help the animals and plants that live on it.

    Space Explorers

    Grades PK 3-4

    Have you ever looked up into the sky and wondered what was there? Higher than the birds, past the clouds, and farther than the Moon, a whole universe of objects spin in outer space. Let’s imagine that we can leave Earth behind and explore the solar system that surrounds us.

    Discover fossils, follow dinosaur tracks and piece together prehistoric clues in this station-based program.

    Solar Superstars

    Grades K - 2

    Explore light energy and learn about the importance of Sun safety. Students will also investigate the effectiveness of sunscreen at blocking UV light.

    As aspiring meteorologists, students will explore the driving factors of weather — air, the Sun and the water cycle — as well as observe, measure and predict weather.

    Grades 6 - 8

    Learn about the components of a simple circuit by building your own paper circuit work of art!

    Investigate physical and chemical changes of matter to identify an unknown substance. They will use their findings to help solve a mystery set at the Museum.

    Create a robot that moves like an animal! Students will learn how locomotion found in nature is used in real-world applications.

    Grades K - 8

    No cape needed for this superhero training session! Activities will explore the science behind super powers such as super strength, invisibility and X-ray vision. Visit every station to become a science superhero!

    It’s a bird, it’s a plane – no, it’s Superhero Science! Students will discover the science behind our favorite superheroes and their amazing powers. They will explore topics such as forms of energy, magnetism, and properties of light.
