When should I contact the Museum to schedule a reservation?

Reservations are available year-round, but must be scheduled two weeks in advance of your visit date. Visits may be scheduled for any time during regular business hours. Book your group visit early, especially if you plan to visit during the busy springtime. You may fax completed form, or contact us by phone or email (see contact info below). Reservations can be requested during Museum office hours Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5pm.

How long does it take to visit the Museum?

We recommend about two hours for visits to the standard exhibits, but this is self-guided so you may spend as little or as much time as you like. Generally, exhibits take about 45 minutes, but once again, this is flexible. If you add on a film, these range from 20-45 minutes, and traveling exhibitions take about 45 minutes. Allow time in your schedule for lunch at the Museum Café, or shopping at the Museum Shop.

What should I do to prepare for our group visit to the Museum?

Review both pages of your invoice as soon as you receive it (usually emailed within 24 hours of making your reservation). Page one includes your schedule, attendance, and payment information. Page two includes helpful information about your scheduled visit. Have printed map and directions available for the driver(s) if traveling by bus. The physical address for directions/transportation is: 2201 N. Field Street, Dallas, TX 75201. Complimentary bus parking is available. Pay close attention to the parking directions that are mailed to you, as the Museum has different bus parking available on weekends and holidays versus Monday-Friday.

When is the payment due?

A nonrefundable deposit is due within 10 days of booking a reservation ($50 for invoices totaling less than $500, and $100 for invoices totaling more than $500). Final payment is due two weeks before your visit date. Business checks and credit cards are accepted. Mailing address for payments: Attn: Reservations, Perot Museum of Nature and Science, 2201 N. Field Street, Dallas, TX 75201.

Is it possible to change reservation date, schedule or attendance?

Changes may be made up until two weeks before your visit date. At that time your final payment is also due. Exception: new guests may be added to your reservation when you check in for a group visit. Museum theater seating will be subject to availability.

Are group tickets mailed or can I pick them up?

Individual tickets are not printed for group reservations. You will receive a group pass when you check in on your visit date.

What are your cancellation and refund policies?

If you need to reschedule or cancel your reservation, you must contact the reservations department at reserve@perotmuseum.org at least two weeks before your scheduled visit in order for your payment to be applied to a new visit date.

Refunds will only be made in the event of Museum equipment failures, power failures, inclement weather, or other issues deemed serious enough by the Museum to warrant cancellation. No other refunds will be issued. Deposits are non-refundable. The Museum does not issue refunds or tickets for absent group members.

What should I bring with me?

Please bring a copy of your final receipt. If you are bringing additional guests, be prepared to make one payment at the Concierge Desk (cash or credit card). Know how many additional adults/children are included in your prepaid reservation, and how many new adults/children (if any) you need to pay for when you check in.

What happens if we’re late?

If you are scheduled for timed programs such as a Museum film, you should plan to arrive at the Museum at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time. Please assemble in the Museum’s Lobby at least 10 minutes before your film begins. There is no late seating in the theater, nor are refunds issued for missed shows.

Where do the buses/cars park, and is there a parking fee?

Bus parking directions will be sent along with your confirmation. Pay close attention to the parking directions that are mailed to you, as the Museum has different bus parking available on weekends and holidays versus Monday-Friday. Guests with additional vehicles will be required to park in the lot located under the Woodall Rodgers overpass. All guests driving vehicles will have to pay the required parking fee.

When and where do we check-in?

Group arrivals may begin at 9:30am. Have your group organized and ready to move through quickly. Your group leader will be given a check-in slip and pick up any applicable group passes.

How do you handle extra adults/children who are not part of my prepaid reservation but need tickets?

Any extra adults/seniors/children will be counted as part of your group and you may purchase group tickets for the exhibits and/or theater at the Concierge Desk (subject to availability). All group should enter through the Museum’s front entrance and pay for any additional tickets in the lobby prior to entering the Museum.

Where do we eat lunch?

The Café is located in the plinth to the right of the main entrance to the Museum. It offers delicious and nutritious meals and snacks, highlighting local Texas ingredients. Guests can enjoy individual pizzas, pasta, handcrafted sandwiches, and satisfying soups, and of course, freshly cooked burgers, hot dogs and fries available at the grill. There is also a selection of items for “little science lovers” (i.e. the children’s menu) as well as a “Grab & Go” option featuring pre-made salads, sandwiches, and desserts. The Café seating, near the main entrance, is reserved for Café customers only.

Can we preorder boxed lunches for our group?

Yes, boxed lunches for groups of 10 or more are available through the Museum Café.

Is there shopping available?

Our retail store is located in the plinth across from the main entrance of the Museum. The store serves as a destination for those desiring a quick gift, as well as a place where visitors can select mementos from their visit on their way in or out of the Museum. It will showcase products from all over the world, including unique items made by local artisans. Merchandise focuses on “extending the Perot Museum experience,” meeting the needs of young children to the most discerning shoppers; all demographics and tastes will be delighted by the newest shopping experience in Dallas.

What ages are welcome in the Children’s Museum exhibits?

The Children’s Museum is located on the lower level of the Museum and is reserved for toddlers through age five with an adult companion. Older children may accompany a parent or sibling, and certain areas may be closed for programs.
