FIELD TRIPS AT THE PEROT MUSEUM
Spark curiosity and discovery in your students! In addition to exploring our permanent exhibit halls, we also offer engaging, TEKS-aligned, hands-on programming to enhance your field trip experience. See below for information on reservation requests, pricing, program offerings, and more.

SUMMER FIELD TRIPS
Summer programming requests are now open! Programming is available through August 8, 2025, Monday-Thursday.
- Lab-based programs and Science on Stage shows are not available during summer months.
Requests
Request forms must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of your desired visit date to be considered for a reservation.
Schedule
Summer field trip are available through August 8, 2025.
Field trips are available during the 2025-2026 school year from August 18, 2025 through May 22, 2026, Monday-Friday. Field Trips will be unavailable on Tuesdays from September 2, 2025 through April 7, 2026.
Pricing
General admission includes all permanent exhibit halls, as well as the ChallENGe Lab and Bio Lab based on availability.
- $8 per student
- Required teachers/chaperones (1 per 7 students) are free. Additional chaperones are $8 each.
- Extra adult chaperones can join for $8 each if included on your reservation, pending ticket availability on the day. Any day-of additions will pay full general admission rate per person — $25 for adults and $15 for children.
- Full payment is due 30 days before your visit.

Financial Aid
Title I schools may apply for funding to visit the Museum until February 27, 2026. If approved, a financial aid award will cover general exhibit entrance for students and required chaperones, as well as programming fees (films and traveling exhibitions are not included). Additional adults on the reservation will pay the group rate, and any walk-up students or adults will pay the general admission rate if tickets are available.

Bug Lab Exhibition

This immersive exhibition invites visitors to discover how bugs’ extraordinary adaptations inspire cutting-edge human innovation. At Bug Lab, visitors will be able to discover how humans are applying the genius of bugs to solve some of the world’s toughest problems. Enjoy immersive bug chambers, interactive stations, and hands-on labs.

Lab-based programs are museum educator led and contain TEKS-aligned activities, support curriculum goals, and pair well with traveling exhibitions, films, and our permanent exhibit halls.

SUITING UP FOR SPACE
Pack your bags — we’re going to Mars! Students will discover how the different sciences come together to design modern-day spacesuits. This question- and exploration driven program will investigate survival in space, focusing on temperature, pressure, oxygen, and mobility.

THE POWER OF LIGHT
Lights, colors, refraction! This show shines a spotlight on the power of light. Students will explore what light is, how it behaves, and how we perceive it.
Available Mondays
THERMAL REACTIONS
This explosive show presents matter and energy in a unique way. Students will see firsthand how matter changes when we add and remove extreme amounts of heat. The program covers states of matter, basic behavior of atoms and molecules, physical and chemical changes of matter, and more!

Checklist
- Please fill out a field trip request form at least 30 days in advance of your desired visit date to be considered for a reservation.

Day of Your Visit
Parking
- Bus Parking
- Vehicles other than buses must have official markings of the school to park in the Bus Parking Lot. Vehicles with official school markings will park in the Bus Parking Lot. All other vehicles, including those of chaperones, can park under Woodall Rodgers Freeway. Parking is $15 and can be purchased at the Box Office or upon exiting the lot (credit card payments only). Check in
- Group Lead — Please know the number of students and teachers/chaperones present in your group. Do not include any extra chaperones/adults who will be paying separately. This information will be required in order to complete your check in and begin your visit.
- Please follow the signs on the ramp to the Plaza and front entrance. Once there, please head to the School Group Check-in Tent.
- Extra children and/or adults may be added to your reservation at the Box Office. All tickets are subject to availability.
- Once checked in, the Museum is self-guided for you to enjoy at your own pace. As a reminder, students must be accompanied by a chaperone at all times. One chaperone is required for every 7 students. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask a team member.
- If you’re scheduled for timed activities, please assemble at the program, theater, or exhibit check-in area at least 10 minutes before your activity begins. There is no late seating, nor are refunds issued for missed programs, films, or exhibits. If scheduled for multiple timed activities, we suggest preparing the first group as soon as possible to ensure groups arrive promptly.

FAQs
How do I make a reservation? Please submit a field trip request or email our Reservation team for additional assistance.
Can we reschedule our visit date or program schedule? All schedule and attendance changes must be made no later than three weeks before your visit. If you need to reschedule or cancel your reservation, you must contact the Reservations Department at reserve@perotmuseum.org at least three weeks before your scheduled visit in order for your payment to be applied to a new visit date.
Can we get a refund for fewer students than originally planned? No, we do not issue refunds.
Will someone be meeting us and guiding us through the Museum? The Museum is self-guided for you to enjoy at your own pace. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask a team member.
Where will our group have lunch? All lunches must stay on the buses until you’re ready to eat. Groups will eat outside on the Plaza and green space at the entrance of the Museum. We suggest staggering lunch times to ensure there is plenty of room for students to sit. In case of inclement weather, we will inform you of an alternate plan when you arrive.
Are backpacks allowed? Yes, however we recommend students leave backpacks on the bus.
My students are in high school, do they need to stay with their chaperones YES! One adult chaperone, 21 years or older, is required for every 7 students.
