STEM NOVA Sleepover

Calling all Cub Scouts (and non-Cub Scouts)! This sleepover is all about STEM and all about you! Scout attending the STEM NOVA Sleepover will get hands-on with some fun and fascinating tech and explore its many uses in our everyday lives. Guest will also get to interview some fantastic people, code a secret message, and even get to learn what happens when technology fails.
Participating scouts will partially earn at minimum their Tech Talk and 1-2-3 Go! Nova Award Modules.
Attendance at this STEM NOVA overnight will also qualify Scouts for their July portion of our Summertime Pack Activities enabling them to earn the Summertime Achievement Award.
Some of the special activities at this sleepover will include:
- Getting to rip apart a computer and learn what makes it work
- Using Morse code and other techniques to convey messages
- Learning how to use a digital microscope to discover the world in a whole new way
- Use some fun and simple math tricks to figure out how much a bowling ball would way on your favorite planet and how old you would be if you went their to weigh it
Along with these activities, we will also feature a scavenger hunt for prizes, a Dino Dance Party, a light snack, a film in the theater, a Live Science Show and, a light breakfast, and of course general admission to all of our outstanding general exhibit halls.
For those seeking a convenient and onsite dinner option, the Café, operated by Wolfgang Puck, will be open 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
