Dino Night

Fri, Aug 30 at 6:30pm

Learn the difference between dinosaurs and lizards. Plus, take part in games that teach you how dinosaurs get their names, how they differed from their modern-day cousins, and how we find evidence of them in our world today.

Some of the special activities at this sleepover will include:

  • Learning to tell the difference between Cretaceous and Jurassic dinosaurs through a hands-on game that describes for us their lifestyles and best known attributes
  • Play with some dinosaur cousins to help discover why some creatures looked like –and might even be mistakenly called- dinosaurs, but really aren’t or weren’t
  • Meet some real dinosaurs –both big and small- and learn how we search for and study them
  • Play with dinosaur poop. See, touch, and feel, real coprolite from all kinds of dinosaurs and ancient creatures. Sift through the dino dung to find out which piece you think is the coolest and who made it

Along with these activities, we will also feature a scavenger hunt for prizes, a Dino Dance Party, a light snack, a film in the theater, a Live Science Show and, a light breakfast, and of course general admission to all of our outstanding general exhibit halls.

For those seeking a convenient and onsite dinner option, the Café, operated by Wolfgang Puck, will be open 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
