Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the party room look like?

    All Birthday Party Rooms measure approximately 15 feet by 15 feet, and come with ample counter space; 8, 60”x 30” tables and 30 chairs. If a picture would help you plan your experience, contact our birthday coordinators at FamilyAdventures@perotmuseum.org! We’ll send you a picture and give any decoration advice.

  • Can I see the room in person before my party date?

    Because our party rooms are reserved 7 days per week for private events and educational programs, we are unable to let guests see the rooms before their party dates. If you would like to see what your room looks like, contact FamilyAdventures@perotmuseum.org, and we’ll send you pictures to give you an idea!

  • What are the dimensions of the party tables?

    Party tables are all rectangular, at 60” long and 30” wide. All party rooms, except for the Art Lab, come with 8, regular sized tables. Art Lab parties have access to child seating, with 4 tables. Tables are toddler-height, but are still 60” long and 30” wide. There is also regular adult seating in the Art Lab. Three adult tables can be provided upon request.

  • Do you have invitations to use?

    The Perot Museum has downloadable invitations to use for your party experience! Invitations can be digital or printed, and can be filled out digitally using Adobe Reader or other PDF editing software.

  • Can I purchase an add-on the day of my party?

    To make sure we have ample supplies for your party, party add-ons and other packages must be purchased at least 72 hours before your event.

  • Can we see a film or visit the temporary exhibition?

    Your party package includes general admission, which does not cover films or the temporary exhibition. If you are interested, you are welcome to purchase these tickets in advance at a discounted rate. Same-day ticket purchases can be made at the Box Office at full price.   • Can I bring my own decorations?

    Feel free to bring any decorations you’d like, so long as they are not on the “Do Not Bring” list. “Do Not Bring” items are listed in detail in your Welcome Packet. Please note that items on the list will be confiscated if they are brought inside the building.

    As for decorating in the room, we have a few rules. Party decorations cannot be hung or taped to white walls or cabinets. Many parties have opted to bring fun tablecloths and centerpieces to personalize their party room. Banners are welcome, so long as they are hung on the large window, and not on a painted surface.

  • Are entertainers such as face painters/costumed characters/balloon artists allowed?

    Any face painters, costumed characters, ballon artists, etc. at your party that are not part of what the Museum provides are considered guests at your party, and will be counted as such. Entertainers must stay within your party room for the duration of your event. Face coverings or full-face make-up are not allowed when entertainers are outside of your party room. If you are inviting an entertainer to your party, please let our birthday coordinators know so we can better facilitate your party experience. We have private birthday restrooms for entertainers to prepare costumes or make-up.

  • How many people will help me with my party?

    You are guaranteed a Perot Museum birthday party host who will be your liaison between the Museum and your party. Occasionally, Perot Museum volunteers help us throw parties! If you are expecting more than 15 children at your party, consider our Helpful Host Package. An extra birthday host takes stress off the Party Family, and helps focus energy on learning and celebrating.

  • Do you have a freezer available to hold my ice cream?

    We do not have a suitable space for cold food items, but you are welcome to bring your own cooler with ice to store your tasty treats!

  • Do you have ice available?

    If reserved in advance, ice is available for free from our outstanding Wolfgang Puck Catering team. We do not have access to large quantities of ice on the event day for reservations without advance notice.

  • Will you provide rolling carts?

    You are welcome to bring your own rolling cart, dolly or wheeled cooler! We do not have carts for public use.

  • I’m going to have more than 40 guests. What can I do?

    Dallas County Fire Regulations prevent us from allowing more than 40 total people in our party rooms. For parties with more than 40 guests, we recommend renting a second room. A second room rental will double the included guests, from 30 to 60, and give you a second host to help manage your experience. Second rooms can only be rented before your party, and are subject to availability. Contact a birthday coordinator at FamilyAdventures@perotmuseum.org to see if this option is right for you!

  • What time should I arrive for my party?

    We recommend arriving 40 minutes before your scheduled start time. This allows for 10 minutes of unloading time from our convenient drop-off area, and 30 minutes in your party room for set-up. Party families will not be allowed into the party room any earlier than 30 minutes before their party time. Please be aware that late arrivals may miss out on the full party experience. To make the most of your party, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes before your party start time.

  • Where should I park? How do I bring my supplies into the museum?

    Party Families each have one (1) complimentary parking space, per room rental, in our secure Special Events Lot. Additional vehicles will need to park under Woodall Rogers in our Visitor Lot. To drop-off party supplies, party families are invited to use our Field Street entrance by pulling into our Bus Drop-Off. Maps for permanent and drop-off parking are included in the Welcome Packet.

  • Where do my guests park?

    Birthday party guests are welcome to use our Visitor’s Lot, located underneath Woodall Rogers Freeway. Guests can pay as they leave, and Members can receive a 50% discount on one (1) parking space by purchasing a voucher at the Museum Box Office.

  • Can I pay for my guests’ parking?

    You can certainly pay for guests’ parking! On the day of your party, once you know how many vouchers you need, proceed to the Lobby, located on Level 1 of the Museum, and talk to our concierge team. Guest parking will be $10 per vehicle, regardless of membership status.

  • Where do guests go when they arrive?

    Party guests can enter through the Perot Museum’s main entrance, then head down to the Lower Level and check in with our podium host.

  • Do my guests need to present proof they’re with my party?

    For your guests’ convenience, all we require is that they tell us the birthday child’s name or the name of the parent who made the reservation.

  • When can my guests and I explore the Museum?

    Your wristband allows you all-day general admission during regular business hours on the day of your party. Guests who wish to come and explore before your party may come to the Lower Level podium and check in as soon as they arrive. For up-to-date hours, see our Hours page.

  • Should I tip my host?

    We hope you have a wonderful time at your Perot Museum birthday party, but our hosts cannot accept tips. You are welcome to let us know how your party went by filling out our event survey! Feel free to recognize outstanding service, and we are happy to pass it along.
