Metaphors and Reality in Human Evolution, Dr. Ron Wetherington, Professor of Anthropology at Southern Methodist University
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science presents a FREE, informal talk with Dr. Ron Wetherington, Professor of Anthropology at Southern Methodist University, who will discuss how we use metaphors in teaching science, and why they are both necessary and dangerous. After his presentation, Dr Wetherington will lead an open discussion about teaching evolution in schools. The event will take place at Trinity Hall Irish Pub at Mockingbird Station, so come grab a pint or some fish and chips, enjoy a short lecture, and join in the discussion. No tickets required. This is presented in partnership with the Dallas Theater Center and their upcoming production of Inherit the Wind, which tackles the subject of evolution in schools.
