Like the movement of the planets around the sun, our Portable Universe planetarium revolves around you! With age-appropriate programs to engage students in grades PK-12, you can explore the mysteries of the Universe at the Museum or as close as your school gymnasium. Programs accommodate 10-29 students, depending on age, plus teacher.

The Sky at Night: LIVE

Duration: 50 minutes
Prepare your students for a virtual journey through our solar system and distant galaxies as our knowledgeable instructors guide them through the movements of the sun, moon, stars and planets. Content is customized to meet the learning needs of each age group and is well suited for both cultural and scientific studies. This program is a great way to introduce students to the wonders of the universe, or to supplement in-depth classroom studies of astronomy.

One World, One Sky

Grades: PK-K
Duration: 45 minutes
With the help of Big Bird, Elmo and Hu Hu Zhu, your early childhood students will embark on an imaginary trip to the moon! This 25-minute Portable Universe movie, followed by a 20-minute program, follows these Sesame Street friends as they explore the sun, moon and stars, including the Big Dipper, and North Star. The imaginary journey allows students to discover that no matter where we may live on Earth, we are all connected under the same sky.
