A creative collision of art and science

Art and science frequently overlap. Leonardo Da Vinci is a famous example. Both scientists and artists study materials, investigate ideas, develop theories and test hypotheses. They draw inspiration from culture, history, people and myths to create or discover something unique. This program encourages creative thinking through fun, innovative projects that combine the art studio and the science lab.

  • Frequency: 8 week session; one day per week

Summer Session

Mission:  Outer Space!

Ever wonder how outer space looks through the eyes of a child? You will find it’s pretty impressive! Join us for an exciting, educational and creative summer that promises to be out of this world! Whether you and your preschooler love to search for stars, constellations and planets in the night sky, or imagine what it would be like to be an astronaut, or discover how the sight of the stars can make you dream like Vincent van Gogh, we will explore them all. Engage in simple science experiments and create impressive products exploring a variety of mixed media including paint, sculpture and printmaking. While exploring the process of creating a “Starry Night” inspired, celestial painting or working in 3D to complete a NASA inspired astronaut sculpture, you may even discover how much space is in outer space after all!

Join today to receive the discounted member price and other perks like year-round free general admission.

The Perot Museum reserves the right to cancel camps or classes at the Museum’s discretion. If a camp or class is canceled by the Perot Museum, patrons will receive a full refund.

The projects were very high quality. We love the program and have already signed up for the next session. My son blossomed here more than he has in other activities. -Joanie Roberts
