A creative collision of art and science

Art and science frequently overlap. Leonardo Da Vinci is a famous example. Both scientists and artists study materials, investigate ideas, develop theories and test hypotheses. They draw inspiration from culture, history, people and myths to create or discover something unique. This program encourages creative thinking through fun, innovative projects that combine the art studio and the science lab.

  • Frequency: 8 week session; one day per week

Fall Session

The Science Behind Art!

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious! It is the source of all science and true art.” - Albert Einstein

This fall discover how science investigations relate to art in so many ways.  Be introduced to the rules of physics in sculptures, use scientific observations when painting images of Earth’s natural objects, explore ecosystems formed in clay, gain knowledge how ancient metal art can be attacked by a chemical reaction called corrosion, and so much more!   Create impressive products experimenting in a variety of mixed media including paint, sculpture and printmaking. These hands-on activities will spark an understanding about the relationship between art and science.

Join today to receive the discounted member price and other perks like year-round free general admission.

Both of my kids enjoyed all elements of the class; they were so intrigued by the art and science. The teachers were amazing perfectly complimenting each other with art and science. -Beth Price
