There’s even more to discover at the Perot Museum than you may realize! Guided by early childhood educators, you’ll discover how object-based learning, modeled on the Smithsonian’s Learning Through Objects approach, can help you and your child better explore the Museum.

Registration for fall is now open for members. Public registration opens August 2.

Fall Session - Weekday Program

  • Frequency: 8 sessions; one day every other week

Early Childhood staff will guide families through the Museum to learn, share and explore a specific gallery together. Our weekday program includes hands-on activities in the classroom, in the galleries and for take-home use that will help families with future visits to the museum.  Four galleries will be covered in this class, and each participant will receive one patch per gallery upon completion. Class meets every other week on Mondays, 9-10:30am for a total of eight classes.

This fall, your little ones will learn and explore in four of the Museum's exhibit halls:

T. Boone Pickens Life Then & Now Hall: Take a trip back in time to see what prehistoric animals inhabited Texas. This is your chance to get face to face with dinosaurs, mammoths and other creatures. Learn how paleontologists study the behaviors and lifestyles of modern animals to better understand animals from the past.

Lamar Hunt Family Sports Hall: It’s easy to take the amazing ways we use our bodies for granted! Get your body moving and your brain going as we take a closer look at muscle movement, explore technology and techniques used by professional athletes and discover some ways we can keep our bodies happy and healthy.

Moody Family Children’s Museum: This fun-packed gallery will introduce you and your child to major Dallas attractions and landmarks. Sort produce, dig for dinosaur bones, go on a camping adventure and more as you navigate the gallery designed just for kids!

Tom Hunt Energy Hall: We see energy in action all the time – in our cars, in our homes, in our cities and even at the Museum! But where do those resources come from? Discover the ways scientists harness energy from the Earth and turn it something useful. Here we will see where resources come from, how we use them and the innovative ways scientists are working to develop new technologies for a sustainable energy future.
