Exciting new adventures await at Perot Museum Discovery Camp this Summer! Each week will focus on a different science topic that incorporates science, technology, engineering, art and math skills.

Camp Types and Locations

In the Museum Learning Labs
The weekly subjects will be explored with our expert educators and staff in customized classrooms, and enhanced with the latest 3D films and visits to our state-of-the-art exhibit halls. Programming is specially designed for each grade level.

In the Museum Auditorium
For the first time, the Perot Museum will offer our two most popular camps, Maker Mania and Destination Innovation, in the auditorium. Grade levels for auditorium camps will rotate throughout the summer, so check the schedule for your camper’s opportunity to take part in the problem-solving, designing and making fun!

At the Hockaday School
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is excited to once again partner with The Hockaday School to host Discovery Camps at the state-of-the-art Centennial Science Center. Each week, campers will explore science topics through hands-on activities, exciting experiments and engaging projects. These camps are held 9am–3pm and before care/after care will be available.

Discovery Camp, Jr.
For Pre-K campers — Ever wonder what can be found in the ocean, deep in outer space and everywhere in between? Through hands-on investigations, exciting activities and visits to Perot Museum exhibits, your children can explore the wonders around them during Discovery Camp Jr. Choose either morning or afternoon camp, and join us for a summer adventure sure to spark the imagination and creativity of your future scientists!

Dig This Paleontology & Earth Sciences

June 13-17 and July 25-29

Dig into the exciting worlds of paleontology and geology as you uncover the dynamic earth processes that create rocks, fossils, minerals and more! Campers will participate in hands-on activities as they learn about ancient environments and landscapes, as well the forces behind as natural phenomena such as earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanoes.

Eco-Quest Life Sciences

June 20-24

The natural world is all around you, even in the middle of the city! From your very own body to the tiniest germs, on up to gigantic animals, come discover what makes life so amazing. Campers will conduct experiments in the lab and participate in activities “in the field” as they discover the wonders of Life Sciences and what it’s like to be a biologist.

Super Sleuth Science

June 27-July 1 and August 1-5

Mysterious things are happening at the Perot Museum, and we need your camper’s detective skills to help us uncover the truth! Discovery Camp investigators will use their sleuthing and code-breaking skills as they gather evidence, practice problem solving and learn about forensic science. They’ll get firsthand experience with crime-solving technologies and participate in interactive experiences focusing on exploration and investigation.

Cosmic Curiosities Astronomy

July 5-8 and August 8-12

Does your child dream of boarding the Space Station? Why not blast off for a fun-filled week of serious space exploration? Your astronauts will go deep into the galaxy to ponder cosmic questions such as: What happens when a star dies? What can you learn from the color of the stars or the material a planet is made of? We will explore the wonders of space, ponder cosmic questions and experiment the way real astronauts do.

Cool Chemistry

July 11-15 and August 15-19

Mad scientists wanted! Join us as we hypothesize, experiment and discover the answers to phenomena through scientific inquiry. Campers will explore the basics of chemistry through loud, colorful and shocking activities as they create chemical compounds, analyze acids and bases and make things glow. Ocean Explorers Marine Biology

July 18-22

Dive deep into the world of marine biology as you learn about the science of sea exploration. Campers will examine the powerful force that is the ocean and get up close and personal with some of the sea’s strangest and most fascinating creatures.

From the mechanical principles of simple machines to building and programming robots, campers will discover their engineering potential as we explore innovative technologies and amazing inventions. We’ll work with circuits, switches and motors to learn about the building blocks of engineering, technology and robotics.

Campers will explore their creativity with hands-on, STEAM-centered activities as they “make” their week memorable. They’ll design and build their own creations, hone their problem-solving skills using a combination of low-tech and high-tech processes and learn from the pros through engaging live demonstrations.

Into the Woods

July 11-15 & August 15-19

Get inspired by nature on an imaginary journey through our Texas forests. Learn how a Naturalist’s world is one of discovery as you use all of your senses to investigate nature. Grab your binoculars and explore the mysteries of the deep, dark forest to find interesting animals, insects and plants that inhabit our woodland areas.

  • All core information for your child, including name, age, school, medications, allergies or other special needs
  • Immunization records OR school name and phone number where records are on file
  • Emergency Contact(s)
  • Understand the Camp Policies and Procedures before beginning the registration process. You will be asked to confirm you have done so at the end of the registration process. It is not advised to pause at the end of your registration to read through this document. There is vital information for you and your camper within it.

All camp sales are final. No refunds will be given for cancelled camp reservations.

Please note that camp packages are sold by the week, and no prorated refund can be given for days your camper does not attend.
