Young makers will design their own creations and stretch their problem solving skills using a combination of low-tech and high-tech processes and through watching live demonstrations led by Museum educators.
Tuesday: Eco-QuestJust because you’re in the city doesn’t mean you can’t explore the natural world! Campers will view the Museum’s latest film Tiny Giants 3D about a chipmunk in a wild wood forced to grow up fast when he finds himself alone for the first time. Let’s also uncover the secret lives of invertebrates through bug encounters and hands-on activities!
Wednesday: Extreme EarthLearn about earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and other natural phenomena! Hands-on activities will help campers learn about ancient environments and landscapes. Campers will also discover properties of minerals and learn how they act as building blocks for rocks and so much more!
Thursday: Weird and Wacky ScienceMad scientists wanted! Many everyday phenomena that we take for granted can be explained by science. Hypothesize, experiment and discover the answers to mysteries through scientific inquiry. Campers will also enjoy our explosively entertaining auditorium show Fire & Ice where they will see firsthand how matter changes when we add and remove extreme amounts of heat.
Friday: Astronomical AdventuresBlast off for a day of serious space exploration! We will explore the wonders of space, ponder cosmic questions and experiment just like real astronauts.
