Summer Day Camps for Grades K-6
We are pleased that there are so many young scientists who are as excited about learning as we are! Because of this, camps sold out very quickly. We are sorry but there are no waiting lists. Information for registered campers can be referenced below.

Offered at various times throughout the summer, each weeklong session includes age-appropriate activities and experiments for each grade, along with exciting hands-on projects and visits to our cooler-than-cool exhibit halls. Summer Discovery Camp combines hands-on exploration and activity with stimulating scientific concepts to keep young minds sharp over summer vacation.
Designed especially for children in grades K-6.
- Interactive experiences focused on Earth sciences, biology, paleontology, astronomy, physics and more
- Hands-on science experiments and creative crafts led by expert camp instructors
- Cutting-edge technology, tools and materials used to teach new concepts in creative ways
- Engaging experiences to share with new friends in optimally sized classrooms
- Camps grouped by school grade: kindergarten; 1st-2nd; 3rd-4th; 5th-6th
- Children must be enrolled in grades K-6 for the 2013-2014 school year.
- Camps will run weekly starting June 24, 2013, through the week of August 19, 9am-3pm
- Before Care available 7:30-8:45am; $40 per week; After Care available 3-5:30pm; $40 per week

Intended for registered campers only, to be used as an extension to your camp. Before Care is available daily during your camp times from 7:30-8:45am and/or After Care from 3-5:30pm.

Paleontology & Earth Science

What makes a fossil a fossil and a rock a rock? What creatures have roamed our earth throughout history? How did minerals get so pretty? We’ll explore the exciting worlds of paleontology and geology to uncover the dynamic earth processes that created fossils, rocks, minerals and more!

Biology & Chemistry

Why does matter matter? Almost everything around us is matter — both living and nonliving things. And what is chemistry? The study of matter! Campers will learn fun facts about all kinds of matter, and then get hands-on with grade-appropriate experiments!

Robotics, Engineering & Technology
Week 3 (7/8-7/12) | Week 7 (8/5-8/9)
Where else can campers build, program and test different kinds of robots? Using LEGO Mindstorms NXT robots, our campers will engineer an autonomous robot capable of doing amazing things! We provide the tools and guidance — but it's up to our campers to bring their engineering imagination! We'll focus on the important technological achievements that humans have developed to get us to where we are now, then imagine and create what might be next!

Astronomy & Space Science

Astronomers are making new discoveries about space every day, and campers will too as they explore planets, stars, moons and more!

Summer Science Sampler

If your kids can't decide which science field is their favorite, why not give them a chance to test it all? We'll mix things up with a different topic each day. From chemistry to paleontology, physics to zoology, each new day brings a new world of discovery.
