Through the generosity of family and friends in honor of Ross Perot’s birthday the Perot Museum of Nature and Science is pleased to offer complimentary general admission for veterans, active duty and retired U.S. military personnel and First Responders and $3 off general admission for members of their immediate families through Labor Day (September 1, 2014).
At the Perot Museum, we are honored to both celebrate and remember the patriotism of the men and women who so valiantly serve our country in the Armed Forces as well as our First Responders who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. We salute each of you and invite you to tour our beautiful new Museum free of charge this summer.
This summer make big discoveries about the biggest land animals ever known: the long-necked and long-tailed sauropods. The World’s Largest Dinosaurs offers an awe-inspiring life-sized female Mamenchisaurus model, specimens of sauropod vertebrae, a giant femur and opportunities for hands-on discovery including a simulated fossil dig at the end of the exhibition.
Roll up your sleeves for a very different kind of do-it-yourself experience! Build It Garage is a unique temporary exhibition at the Museum for summer that invites guests to become engineers and designers as they create murals made of light, launch handmade rockets and construct racecars. Within the exhibition the Big Ideas Project Zone will challenge visitors to build, break or make a variety of creations.
Choose from three 3D journeys in The Hoglund Foundation Theater, a National Geographic Experience.
Audiences will fall in love with this iconic, delightful creature and better understand the desperate plight of pandas in the wild. The filmmakers were granted unprecedented access to the Wolong Panda Conservation Centre, to bring to light the extraordinary efforts of the Chinese to secure the pandas’ future in the wild.
Walk the Earth with dinosaurs... Deeply rooted in science, the film carries the audience back in time to witness these amazing beasts come to life. Meet the largest living animals to have ever walked Earth: the titanesque plant-eating Argentinosaur and its nemesis the Giganotosaur, a huge carnivore that could easily challenge the famous T. rex!
It’s a natural history epic. It’s a compelling detective story. It’s a scientific adventure at its best. Flight of the Butterflies 3D takes audiences on a journey through one of the most incredible migrations on Earth. Following the year-long annual migration cycle of monarch butterflies, the award-winning production team filmed hundreds of millions of monarchs.
