Position Summary

The Lobby Host greets our guests as they enter the Museum. This is the first point of contact between our guests and volunteers. Lobby Host volunteers are dedicated to providing exceptional guest service, answering questions fully and providing directions.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, inviting and professional manner
• Assist guests with using ticket kiosks
• Have excellent knowledge of the building, exhibits and the local area
• Provide information regarding membership
• Provide information regarding the Museum Shop, Café and other Museum features

Skills and Abilities

• Previous experience in retail, customer service or similar background encouraged
• Ability to communicate in clear, grammatically correct, concise and friendly manner
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Training Required

• Orientation: 4 hours
  • Orientations are held monthly
  • Sign up for orientation of choice at initial interview

Assignment Schedule

The usual shift schedules are listed below:

NOTE: Shift tims may occasionally change due to special events

• Monday-Saturday: 9:30am-1:30pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm
• Sunday: 9:30am-1:30pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm
• First Thursday of each month: 4:30pm-9:00pm

Time Commitment

Two shifts per month (8 hours) for a period of one year.
