Field Trip Greeter

Position Summary
Field Trip Greeters will be responsible for greeting groups of children arriving for field trips at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. You will assist with checking groups in, giving them their tickets/passes or stickers, reviewing their schedules, orienting them to the building and procedures, and helping them with lunch storage. Other responsibilities may include on-the-floor evaluation, data entry, and reviewing surveys.
Responsibilities
- Greet students, teachers and parents in a friendly, inviting and professional manner
- Assist with group unloading, check in, schedules and way finding
- Provide exceptional customer service when working with school groups and the general public
- Be able to provide general information about Museum program offerings
Skills and Abilities
- Previous customer service or experience working with students and teachers preferred
- Comfortable working with large groups
- Ability to communicate in a friendly, clear and professional manner
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
- Must be organized, attentive to details and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Simple computer skills helpful
Training Required
- Orientation: 4 hours
- Orientations held monthly
- Sign up for orientation of choice at initial interview
- School group training: 2-4 hours to observe check-in procedures in action

Assignment Schedule
The standard shift schedules is:
- Monday-Friday: 9-11am
Schedule may vary depending on school holidays and the number of students booked for field trips
Time Commitment
Minimum of at least one shift per week for the months of January-May 2013.
Age Requirement
18 and older
