Position Summary

Moody Family Children’s Museum Desk Attendant greets guests and monitors the Children’s Museum area

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests as they enter the Children’s Museum area
  • Remind guests that the area is for children aged 5 and younger ONLY
  • Show guests the stroller parking and explain that strollers must be left in that area
  • Answer any questions about Museum offerings
  • Communicate with Guest Services staff, security and other departments as necessary

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to maintain a firm yet friendly attitude
  • Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally

Training Required

  • Orientation: 4 hours
    • Orientations are held monthly
    • Sign up for orientation of choice at initial interview

Assignment Schedule

The usual shift schedules are listed below:

NOTE: Shift times may occasionally change due to special events

  • Monday-Saturday: 9:30am-1:30pm and 1:00-5:00pm
  • Sunday: 9:30am-1:30pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm
  • First Thursday of each month: 4:30pm-9:00pm

Time Commitment

 2 shifts per month (8 hours) for at least one calendar year.
